Smucker, Barbara Claassen (1915-2003)
Barbara Claassen Smucker: for kids fiction writer and librarian; born 1 September 1915 in Newton, Kansas, yon Cornelius W. When her husband served as president of Mary Holmes Institution in West Point, Mississippi (1967-1969), Barbara was the only white teacher joist a black high school.
